William Stedman off to Paralympics in Rio

Attending the Paralympic Games in London in 2012 inspired and motivated rising star William Stedman to pursue his talent in Athletics. He has consistently achieved outstanding results in numerous athletic events, giving the Paralympic world a vision of things to come at the IPC World Championships in Doha in late October 2015.

There, William made the finals of both the 400m and Long Jump, setting a huge Personal Best in the Long Jump where he finished 7th and setting Personal Best, New Zealand Record and Oceania Record in the 400m where he finished 6th despite being the youngest competitor in the race by 10 years!!

This week it became official: William, now in Year 11, is the youngest member of the Paralympic squad heading to the Rio Paralympic Games which begin September 7th. William featured on TV One News on June 9th. Watch it online (1.45 min).

We are very proud of William’s achievements thus far and all wish him the very best as he prepares for Rio!!
