Supported High Needs Programme

At Middleton Grange School, our Supported High Needs Programme provides personalised learning opportunities designed to help each student thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. We work in partnership with parents, whānau, teachers, and specialist agencies to develop an individualised learning programme that meets the unique strengths, interests, and needs of each student.

Learning may take place within the classroom alongside peers, in our dedicated learning space known as The House, or through a combination of both. This flexible approach allows students to access the support they need while remaining connected to the wider school community.

For our secondary students, programmes include a balance of learning experiences and meaningful community engagement opportunities. Students in our transition pathway develop practical life skills through work experience placements, collaboration with external agencies, budgeting, transport training, daily food preparation, sport, and other real-world learning experiences that promote independence and confidence.

Students are valued members of the Middleton Grange community and are actively involved in school life, participating in activities, events, and opportunities that foster belonging, growth, and connection. Through a Christ-centred approach, we seek to equip each student to reach their God-given potential and engage meaningfully in their community and beyond.
