Netball

Netball

Year 5-13 students

Netball is a popular sport here at Middleton, with teams across the primary school right through to Year 13. With so many students interested we do our best to provide an opportunity for everyone to play, but we are often limited to team number restrictions coach availability. This year we have 11 teams playing across different competitions, supported by student, parent, and community member coaches.

Year 5-6

Our Year 5/6 teams play in the Primary Sport Canterbury competition on Friday afternoons during school hours at Hagley Park. This is part of the weekly travelling sport option. Trials for these teams take place late in Term 1, and the teams compete during Terms 2 and 3. Currently we do not have any primary teams competing in the Christchurch Netball Centre competition, however we can facilitate this with the help of interested parents if families would like this option.

Year 7-8

Our Year 7/8 teams compete in the Christchurch Netball Centre competition on Saturday mornings at Hagley Park. These teams are competitive and train once a week here at school.

Year 9-13

Our Year 9-13 teams generally compete in the School Sport Canterbury competition on Wednesday afternoons at various schools around Christchurch and here at Middleton Grange. These teams also compete in the Christchurch Netball Centre competition that play at Nga Puna Wai. Our Senior A Netball team competes in Senior Reserve on Wednesdays and Challenge Grade on Mondays. All other teams that are playing in the Christchurch Netball Centre competition play on a Saturday.
