Adventure Racing

Adventure Racing

Year 9-13 students

Adventure Racing is a competitive sport option available to Year 9-13 students. There are regular trainings and then students can opt in or out of each offered event or race that the school enters. These events include orienteering, rogaines, and adventure races all across the South Island and a few National events.

In Term 2 our top senior athletes will attend the Hillary Challenge Qualifier, and if they qualify will travel north to compete in the National Event near Tongariro National Park in the Term 3 school holidays.

Our Y9/10 students will attend the Get 2 Go Regionals in Term 3 and then if they qualify will have the opportunity to compete at the National Final in December.

Teachers in Charge: Mr Pomare (Year 11-13) & Mr Liebert (Year 9/10)

Coach: Greg Jansen

Fees/Registration

Fees for Adventure Racing depend on the events you choose to compete in. Costs will be advised prior to entry.

Registrations are closed, but if you are interested in getting involved please speak to the relevant Teacher in Charge

Competition Dates

Follow the link below for a list of events the school is planning to enter. Please note that entry will depend on staff availability, student interest, and athlete ability. Events marked as ‘optional’ are not school-based entries – you may attend these individually, but not as part of a school team or with Middleton Grange listed as your school, unless you have written consent from the Sports Department.
