Year 12

Service

Personal development

The focus for Year 12 is service, the development of a servant heart. The aim is to connect a Christian worldview with the concept of serving others; putting our neighbours first to the same extent that we naturally look after our own interests.

This is demonstrated through relationships with friends, peers and others in the wider school community, as well as through specific acts of service both in and outside the school. Pupils are encouraged to complete twenty-five hours of service during the year, working in projects that will serve others. Pupils undertake a variety of projects, from service related activities at school, door to door collections for charities, serving on youth camps or on overseas mission projects, to volunteering at animal shelters and charity fundraisers.

Academic development

Every year a number of pupils decide to leave school at the end of Year 12. This therefore becomes their final year at school. With this in mind, all pupils are encouraged to set achievable, measurable goals for themselves and to think seriously about the qualifications that they may need to be able to pursue their chosen careers outside school. In this way they are serving God by using the gifts and abilities that each one has been given for His glory.
